The type of plastic determines the starting point

Plastic is not a single material type with one fixed set of instructions for use. ABS behaves differently from polycarbonate, and some plastics naturally offer hardly any grip for an adhesive. As a result, a bond that starts out strong can still come loose later on.

That is why we first look at what type of plastic you are using and what the bond has to withstand during use. We then determine which adhesive is best suited and whether the surface needs to be cleaned, sanded, or otherwise pre-treated.

Permacol recommends structural adhesives for a wide range of plastic bonds, also when plastic is combined with metal, glass, or another material. When in doubt, we test the material combination in our laboratory. This way you know before production whether the adhesive bond will meet expectations in practice.
