Bonding concrete
For the bonding of concrete with epoxy adhesive or polyurethane adhesive there are various high-quality products available, depending on the application: structural bonding, repairs, or bonding prefabricated elements.
For bonding concrete to concrete, or concrete to steel/glass, epoxy and polyurethane adhesives are well suited. When using these products, the application method and conditions are of great importance for the achieving a good bond. For surfaces that do not fit well, a gap-filling adhesive is required; curing time and temperature are points of attention.
Applications for concrete adhesives are:
> Bonding prefabricated concrete elements (such as sills, lintels, stair treads)
> Repairing cracks or holes in concrete
> Bonding concrete to metal, stone, wood or tiles
> Installing heavy components or machines on concrete floors
What requirements should be met for bonding concrete:
> Liquid (small areas or close-fitting surfaces)
> Thixotropic (sealant) for vertical applications
> Convenient working time (2-component system)
> Temperature-resistant, water-resistant
